  Shortly after writing of my experiences with Amiga word processors , I found another Amiga word processor that was not included in the previous article. I had previously experimented with Final Writer 5, WordPerfect 4.1, and AmigaWriter 2.0. The actual article was written primarily in WordPerfect 4.1 for Amiga, exported to WP format for MSDOS, loaded into LibreOffice on Linux Mint, then copied and pasted into web forms for my blog and on the forums at Amigaworld.net. The other word processor that I found for Amiga was Personal Write. I had encountered it somewhere on the Internet during my previous experiments. In my search, and after running the program, I discovered that it was last updated by Cloanto back in 1995. I was trying to find a copy of Personal Write when I eventually discovered that it was available on AmigaForever. Since I have a legal copy of AmigaForever, I eventually found Personal Write on my emulated Amiga under Work:Software/AmiToRTF as PWrite. ...

  Recently I have been experimenting with word processing programs under AmigaOS 3. Years ago, back in the 90's, I used my A1200 with Final Writer to create term papers for college. Before I bought my A1200; however, I was using a Gateway 2000 computer running Windows 3.1 on an Intel 386DX/33 processor. For my old Gateway computer, I had landed on a word processor called Breeze. It was a simple, DOS based word processor that was free (shareware), which is the right price for a college student, and did everything that I need. None of my term papers needed graphics or clip art, so a basic word processor was all that I required. I still used Breeze on MSDOS even after I bought my A1200. A year or so after purchasing my A1200, I finally decided on buying Final Writer 5. After trying AmigaOS 4.1 FE PPC Classic on a version of WinUAE from December 2016, I decided to try it on Amiga Forever Plus 2016. I was wondering if the experience would be any different. In my previous experiments with AmigaOS 4.1 FE PPC Classic, I had manually configured WinUAE based upon settings I had found on the Internet. With Amiga Forever 2016, however, the configurations were already preset. Amiga Forever 4K Desktop View from Developer Oddly enough, the Amiga Forever 2016 configuration works better. It runs faster and has fewer system crashes. I did a configuration comparison between the two, and both appear to have the same settings. At this point I'm unsure as to why Amiga Forever 2016 works better. I will continue to search for the differences, but all that I can determine, at this point, is that the developer of Amiga Forever 2016 has made additional enhancements to the emulation software. So I purchased Amiga Forever 2016 and have it already setup and running. I already had a version from several years ago, but I decided it was time to get the newer version. Along with a recent purchase of AF2016, I also bought AmigaOS 4.1 FE for Classic PPC systems. I've read several have already installed it with AF2016, so I am hoping to join in the AOS 4.1 fun here in the next few days. A recent email that I received from Amigakit indicates that it's on its way. I decided on purchasing the physical media as I like having the physical product, especially since the first AOS update I purchased since 3.0 was included on my A1200 back in 1993. Hopefully I'll have good luck getting 4.1 installed on the VM. I am also hoping that the 4.1 SDK has good documentation for AmigaOS programming; particularly GUI and 2D programming.
